Bad News!

Hello people and I have bad news. I didn´t go to the school camp because of COVID-19. Since it is alert level 2 now you are not allowed gatherings of over 100 and at camp there is more than 100 people there. Now I am quite sad and disappointed that it got canceled but its whatever. Instead of camp we got to do fun activities at school. On Monday we did a touch tournament (I am not a big fan of touch). On Tuesday we went to the skate park which was very fun. On Wednesday I was sick so I don´t know what we did.

Overall, I am sad that I did not go to the camp. Let me know in the comments how sad you would be out of 10 if your camp got canceled. 1 being not sad at all and 10 being the most you have ever been.

My Trip To the Antarctic Centre

Yesterday I went to the International Antarctic Centre to be a penguin keeper for the day.

I got to go into lots of areas that the public don't get to go in including the penguin enclosure. The penguins have to have a vitamin tablet everyday and I had to put a pretend tablet in a dead fish. I had gloves on but it was still very gross! I also watched a 4D movie and go in the ice room to experience an ice storm. I got to pet the huskies too. They were SO cute! I also got a ride in the hagglund.

So a very busy start to the holidays!

Top 5 steam video games that I enjoy!

Top 5 video games on steam that I enjoy.

                               (These are my opinions).

Steam is a video game software that you can use and purchase games that you then play. I have been using steam now for years!

5. Fun With Ragdolls

Fun with Ragdolls is a video game created by Jadon Barnes.
Fun with Ragdolls very satisfying and entertaining because you can just flop around everywhere and be a complete mess! I think there is an update coming soon and it looks really cool! I rate this game 9/10.

4. Paint The Town Red

Paint the town red is quite a gory game but it isn´t realistic which make it really funny. there are a few levels it comes with, these levels are: Biker Bar, Disco, Prison, Pirate Cove, Saloon, and Sandbox. But it isn´t just that there are other levels in the steam workshop that other people have created! overall I rate this game a 9.5/10.

3. Terraria

Terraria is one of my favourite games because there is so much you can do in it. There are about 4,000 items in it now! it is a 2d game but it is really fun and interesting. 9.5/10 I would rate it.

2. Descenders

Desenders is VERY fun. It is a biking game where you can do stunts and every level is different! I have put about 50 hours into playing it and I never get bored. There are lots of different gear you can wear as well that make you look really cool! this is a 10/10 game.

1. Steep

Steep is based on a mountain and there are lots of different objectives and challenges that you can do. But you don´t
have to do the objectives. you can just mess around and ski down the mountain. there is also a rocket wingsuit that you can use that makes you fly! My favourite thing to do in the game is that you can fall off deliberately and roll down the mountain. I rate this awesome game 11/10.

That was my favourite games to play on steam. hope you enjoyed.

Terraria Hardmode! 😈

TERRARIA

I have been playing a lot of Terraria lately. If you do not know what Terraria is, then I will tell you: Terraria is a 2D Steam game, pretty much like Minecraft but it has more items, more enemy's and it is 2D. Anyways I have been playing this so much. but recently I couldn't make any progress for almost 5 days! The reason is because I wanted to summon the wall of flesh

(A boss Battle) but I was not fully prepared so I was like "I won't beat but I will see how close I will get". Somehow I got really close to beating it. But I forgot it kills my guide because you have to sacrifice him to summon it. But you need the person to respawn, then you can re-summon the wall of flesh. but for some odd reason the guide didn't spawn for five days!!!!!!!!!!!

Eventually the guide did re-spawn then I summoned the wall of flesh. I was shaking just the thought of me losing and waiting another five days. I was so adrenlised (made up word) I forgot to drink my potion effects. So I quickly chugged the bottles and then I was ready. I used my bow and when I almost defeated it but I fell into a pool of lava (luckily I had a potion of fire resistance on). But I was stuck there. The wall came and I thought when you go behind the wall it automatically kills you but it just flings you in front of it (thankfully).

And................................................ BOOM! I defeated it then hard mode came around I struggled to get there and I still am struggling now but I am making progress!😃

THE END

The saddest day in my entire life :(

One day I woke up and thought it was going to be a nice day playing some games maybe a bike ride
but no, I was wrong.

I woke up as usual got dressed, had my breakfast but my parents had to tell me something very disappointing and upsetting. My Karate club has closed down forever! I was shocked, I was not prepared for that. Karate is my biggest hobby. I have been doing for 5 years (half my life).
Even worse though........... I was 2 belts away from my black belt!!! (7 months). I felt like all that time, hundreds of hours had just gone to waste. My parents explained to me that it was not a waste.
I have still got loads of skills I have learnt over the years: Respect, self confidence and many more.
I had a goal in life, it was to reach my black belt and I am still going to achieve it. Even if I have to restart in a new club and go through another 5 years. I will reach my goal eventually.
Another way of saying it is: you're in a car, you need to get to your destination, you are on your way
but you hit a road blockage that stopped you. you can go around the blockage but it will take longer.
Are you going to go around the blockage or give up? Let me know in the comments or if you are in a similar situation let me know.

This is just a message to let you know that there are obstacles in life sometimes, but if you want something so badly don't give up.

The sinking of the Rainbow Warrior

The bombing of the Rainbow Warrior - Greenpeace New Zealand

The Sinking of the

Rainbow Warrior

On 10th July 1985, the Greenpeace vessel called the Rainbow   Warrior was departing on another human rights protest by sailing out   to the Mururoa Atoll and to stop the French from detonating another   nuclear bomb in the Pacific Ocean. Greenpeace is often described   as the largest environmental organisation in the world with offices in 39 countries. However, the Rainbow Warrior was sunk at the port of   Auckland by French Secret Service (DGSE) agents before the ship could depart.

The Rainbow Warrior sunk and killed 1 person: Fernando Pereira.
A portuguese photographer that drowned when the bomb exploded. The hole where the bomb went off was roughly the size of a car!

France’s point of view
France did not want to let New Zealand interfere with the nuclear testing going on in the Pacific ocean. A spy called Christine Cabon entered New Zealand and introduced herself to Greenpeace under the name of Frederique Bonlieu. She explained that she was very passionate about the environment and wanted to volunteer. Six weeks later Christine Cabon Departed and left New Zealand. Therefore, France got many ideas of what New Zealand was departing on the next protest and how France could sabotage it. Apparently nobody was meant to lose their life. The first mine was supposed to crumple the hull so the people on board would have enough time to get off before the second mine detonated. But instead, the first mine detonated and left a gigantic hole in the boat 7 minutes later the second mine went off and then 4 minutes after that the Rainbow Warrior sunk.

New Zealand point of view
New Zealand was very, very upset when they found out one of their allies had betrayed them. The skipper of the Rainbow Warrior called Peter Willox says he will always state the operation by France was murder. The people of New Zealand consider the bombing of the boat terrorism.

I having a super fun bike ride

I have not gone out of my house for almost a week now so my mum suggested that we to go on a bike
ride. But before we went my brother had to pump up my tyres because it was only 25 PSI
(pounds per square inch). Finally we set off.

Since I have not been out for a week I really noticed how beautiful the outside world is. I see that the leaves are green, red, orange, or yellow. I heard the birds chirping loudly and I smell the fresh gorgeous air. There were more cars than last week though even though we were not going down an alert level for another week. It feels like people seem to think that they are relaxing the rules a little bit.

I really miss being with my friends at school and I hope things turn back to normal now.

How soap works

        How does soap work?

Soap has been around for thousands of years. It is simply made out of an acid and a base. The acid is actually fatty acids. Combined with Triglycerides (a fat that is found inside your blood). Also the base is just Sodium hyperoxide. When these ingredients are mixed together and then the saponification reaction happens. Fatty acids separate from the Triglycerides and fuse to the hydroxide ions. Forming, soap.

When your washing practically anything with soap, it is doing a couple of things: First, it is decreasing the surface tension of the water. Second, it is binding to dirt, oil, bacteria etc. soap has a chain of connected oxygen, carbon, and hydrogen atoms.
One end of this chain is attracted to oils. And the other end is attracted to water. So when you are washing your hands, the lipophilic ends (attracted to oil ends) of the these chains picks up oils and grease adn when you rinse, the hydrophilic ends
(attracted to water ends) of the molecules follow the water. That means you can wash your hand and the soap with not much dirt left.

And that is how a bar of soap works.
